Stay in the old village
The Val d’Isère centre puts you close to the slopes and village life. Inside are an equipment store, a buffet restaurant and a bar where guests can spend time together after skiing. Accommodation is simple: 240 beds in rooms for two, four or eight people, with washbasins and shared bathrooms on each floor.
- Multi-bed rooms are standard. Two-person bunk-bed rooms cost extra when available and are booked by two people travelling together.
- If stairs or shared facilities affect your stay, arrange your accommodation needs with the operator before booking.

How much coaching do you want?
Half-time coaching leaves more room for independent skiing; full-time gives you more time with an instructor. UCPA’s Val d’Isère programmes also include first-time beginner courses, no-instructor skiing and specialist off-piste trips.
- Half-time: 12 hours of instruction, with the rest of your ski time free to organise.
- Full-time: 23 hours of instruction, alongside some free time.
- For independent skiing, choose the no-instructor programme. Light is a separate coached format with two sessions, around five hours; its availability in Val d’Isère needs confirming for your week.
- New to skiing? Choose a first-time beginner course. For off-piste or touring, match the required technical level and fitness to your experience.

Meals, equipment and lift pass
Having the main parts of the week together is a large part of UCPA’s appeal. The half-time ski package includes a six-day lift pass, breakfast, lunch, dinner, technical equipment and 12 hours of instruction.
- Choose the programme that fits your skiing and preferred amount of coaching. Your trip details set out the nights, first and last meals, lift-pass area and validity, and equipment collection and return.
- Include travel, transfers, tourist tax, room supplements, drinks, towels, clothing, a helmet and insurance in your comparison, whether bundled into your quote or charged separately.
- Tell the centre about dietary requirements before booking so it can say what it can accommodate.
- To compare UCPA with a self-organised week, include the same meals, lift pass, hire and lessons in both totals.

Find the right group
Choose the level that matches your recent skiing, even when friends need a different group. Age limits belong to the exact departure: student, standard, family, youth, extended-age and specialist weeks have their own eligibility. Ask for written confirmation if the age information is unclear.
- Describe the terrain and conditions you are comfortable skiing, including any off-piste experience.
- Instruction is in French and English, with variable English proficiency. If you need English-language instruction, agree it when booking, especially for a beginner course.
- For a family trip, choose a dedicated family programme offered in Val d’Isère and check the ages, supervision and activities for each person.

Go solo or bring friends
Shared meals and activity groups give solo travellers regular ways to meet people. Solo bookings are welcome. Friends and couples can enjoy the same base while choosing coaching that suits their own level.
- Link separate bookings with the operator if you want to share a room; room requests need confirmation.
- Compare programme timetables to find time to ski or relax together outside lessons.

- Keep the centre’s check-in, equipment-fitting and first-session times together with your travel details. For a late arrival, arrange a contact and a meal plan.
- Use the current drop-off instructions in your booking. The centre’s general access page still carries a winter 2024/25 shuttle notice.
