Val d’Isère’s council voted on 5 June to support extending and refurbishing the gendarmerie premises in Les Richardes, with the municipality acting as project owner. The minutes link the proposal to ageing premises and preparations for the 2030 Games.
The unanimous vote was an initial commitment, rather than a construction start. The record sets out subsequent discussions with the national gendarmerie over finance and rent, followed by a further decision on studies and state validation of the brief.
For residents, this is part of the longer-term renewal of village services. The June decision alone does not establish a worksite timetable, a temporary closure or a new opening date.
