Val d’Isère après-ski: where to meet after skiing
Choose La Folie Douce for a party on the mountain, Cocorico for a village snow-front meeting, or Avancher and Les 5 Frères for a quieter drink.

Choose the location first
The main choice is where to finish your day. La Folie Douce puts the music up the mountain; Cocorico brings the group together at the village snow front. For conversation, start with the quieter village venues listed by the tourist office.
| Plan | Place to investigate | Practical trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Music on the mountain | La Folie Douce, reached via La Daille gondola | Mountain atmosphere, with a lift deadline for the return. |
| Music at the village snow front | Cocorico, Rond Point des Pistes | Meet after skiing without another mountain lift. |
| A quieter conversation | Avancher hotel bar or Les 5 Frères salon | Stay in the village and make conversation the focus. |

La Folie Douce: plan the way down
La Folie Douce combines restaurants, cabaret and après-ski on the mountain. Pedestrians reach it from Val d’Isère via the La Daille gondola, so skiers and non-skiers can meet there while the lift is operating.
- Before going up, confirm the pedestrian ticket and last permitted descent with the lift operator. Venue hours and lift hours are separate.
- Set a departure time before the music starts. If you drink alcohol, take the agreed non-skiing return rather than skiing afterwards.
Cocorico: a snow-front meeting point
Cocorico’s Val d’Isère venue is at Rond Point des Pistes on the village snow front, with DJs and live music. Choose it when people are finishing at different times or joining after a day away from the slopes. Agree one meeting spot so you can find each other on a busy terrace.
A quieter drink, or an evening in town
The tourist office suggests the Avancher hotel bar and the salon at Les 5 Frères for a quieter drink. Le Petit Danois is another village option if you want live music and DJ events. Staying down in town also leaves you free to change out of ski boots before meeting.
- If you are staying in La Daille or Le Fornet, choose around the evening journey home.
- For a family or anyone with access needs, confirm seating, entry rules and street access with the venue.
Keep the booking simple
Pick one venue and decide whether the plan is a drink before dinner or a longer afternoon out. For a reservation or special event, confirm the programme for your date, what the booking includes and any minimum spend, deposit or cancellation charge. Add food, drinks, lift access and transport home to the budget.

Keep planning
- Val d’Isère for non-skiers: a day togetherA non-skier can spend the morning at Centre Aquasportif while the others ski, then reunite for lunch in the village. For a shared mountain outing, the Solaise gondola carries pedestrians to the Lounge picnic room when open. Choose the reunion first, then give everyone a morning that works.

- Val d’Isère vs Tignes: which base should you choose?Choose Val d’Isère Centre for a trip built around its village and central snow front; shortlist Tignes Le Lac for indoor activities and Val Claret for a high-altitude ski base. Both access the linked ski area, so compare the mornings and evenings you will actually spend in each resort.
